Established in 1946 by Silvio Cadona, Fyshwick Builders Suppliers is one of Canberra’s longest standing Timber and Hardware companies and we pride ourselves on still being a family owned and operated business.
From Humble beginnings, Silvio was born in Italy 60km north of Venice. Silvio immigrated to Australia in late 1938. A cabinet maker by trade, he came to Canberra, and began making furniture for the Government and registered his own business in 1946.
His furniture making business proved highly successful before he diversified into joinery and then timber and timber flooring.
Then known as Cadona Dal and Co, the business completed contract and joinery work for many builders and motels throughout Australia and the Pacific Islands.
Since the days of Cadona Dal and Co the business has undergone a name change to Fyshwick Builders Suppliers but remains in the Cadona family to this day.
There have been great changes in the Timber and Hardware Industry’s since 1946 but our goal is still the same and that is to offer honest, genuine customer service to all of our customers.
